Yellowstone Club's Community Foundation is searching for a Behavioral Health Program Officer to join their team!
The Behavioral Health Program Officer is a visionary, innovative,
and solution-oriented community leader who will identify Big Sky’s systemic
psychosocial and behavioral health needs. He/she will coordinate the effort to
address these issues by working with the community to build a wellness model.
Major Responsibilities:
- Increase the number of medical and social
services available, bringing preventative and educational programs to the community, making services affordable,
and working to decrease stigmatization.
- Provide behavioral health program and funding oversight.
- He/she
will define, track, and report shared community-wide metrics.
- He/she
will be a committed and compassionate advocate for the mental health and
substance use disorder needs of all who live and work in Big Sky.

she will have exemplary management skills and a proven track record of
developing programming to address strategic needs.

Program and Service Development
- Create
a pathway to care for all Big Sky residents and workers with a mental health or
substance use disorder concern
- Work
with the Director of Community partnerships to collaborate with local
nonprofits, public health and safety officials, hospital staff, school
administrators, social service agencies, business leaders, and other
stakeholders to identify Big Sky’s behavioral health gaps
- Identify
community-wide goals with associated metrics for community partners to work
collaboratively towards.
- Work
closely with the Director of Community Partnerships to cultivate strong
collective impact relationships and goals between cross-sector stakeholders.
- Develop
initiatives to fill identified service delivery gaps and mitigate access
hurdles.
- Coordinate
partnerships to promote and create activities, events and groups that support
wellbeing through self-care, behavioral health first aid, stigma reduction and
opportunities for connection
- Support
the development of innovative strategies to recruit and retain behavioral
health providers.
- Monitor
delivery of evidence-based programs and best practice services and evaluate
their efficacy to improve quality.
- Report
back to all stakeholders the annual progress of the coalition.
- Work
to develop programming along a full continuum of care including everything from
universal prevention to transfer agreements with acute care facilities.
- Collaborate
with marketing firm to create and run campaigns aimed at stigma reduction.
Administration
- Communicate
mission, values and strategic plans of the coalition
- Leverage
the organization’s collaborative alliance to seek local, regional and national
grants to ensure coalition sustainability.
- Review
and evaluate all behavioral health funding requests to the Foundation.
- Prepare
and present behavioral health funding recommendations to staff and board.
- Advocate
for community needs by staying up to date on behavioral health research,
community needs assessments, and developments in mental health and substance
use disorder treatment
- Ensure
resources for programs and scholarships are meeting community needs.
- Prepare
and present local program findings to state, national and global audiences
through peer-reviewed journal publications, when appropriate.

Experience/Education
Required
- Passion
to serve individuals with behavioral health needs
- Proven
track record of pursuing strategic opportunities and cultivating partnerships to meet
organizational objectives
- Demonstrated
ability to gather and use data to drive decisions resulting in quality care
- Exemplary
leadership skills
- Reviews
and evaluates all behavioral health funding requests to the Foundation.
- Excellent
written and oral communication skills
- Exemplary
planning and problem-solving skills
- Strong
public relations skills including the ability to work with local government officials and civic groups
- Ability
to report to work as scheduled and work a flexible schedule as needed, which
may include travel to other sites
- A master’s
degree in public health, social work or psychology is preferred along with four
years of professional experience working in a healthcare, public health, and/or
social service.
- Applicants
should have at least two years of experience in collaborative
environments.
Experience/Education
Preferred
- Familiarity with the challenges
of rural areas or similar resort communities
- Knowledge of local and state
public health systems, public and private insurance programs, and
healthcare environment
- Working knowledge of
reimbursement structure for public insurance programs like Medicaid
and Medicare Compensation and Benefits.
- Familiarity with evidence-based
practices, utilization management and outcome measures.
- Familiarity with state, local and
federal regulations regarding behavioral health including the OIG
watchlist.
- LCPC, social work or
independently licensed psychologist.
