Description
As our maintenance technician you will be expected to carry out the day to day tasks that arise from a busy backpackers hostel this could be repairing doors and locks, changing lamps and light fittings, painting rooms or replacing sinks taps washers toilets and more.
Ideally you will have a broad knowledge of various trades such as joinery, plumbing, electrics but possess relevant training in one main trade.
•You will be expected to keep up to date with all ppm and reactive maintenance tasks and update records accordingly.
• You will have a sound knowledge of health and safety legislation.
•You would be reporting directly to the maintenance manager but will have the competence to work on your own initiative and be able to plan work accordingly.
You will be able to assist with in house refurbishments as well as attending to external contractors when required.
The ideal candidate.
Would come from a trades background and have relevant experience in a maintenance role.
Carry out work to a high standard at all times.
Possess sound fault finding capabilities and the ability to get to the root cause of problems
Be well-organised and be able to prioritise work load.
Have a can-do attitude and willing to go the extra mile.
Have the ability to work under pressure and apply a calm and collective approach to sometimes testing tasks.
