1. Profile and Job Description

To take the new Belushi’s bar and St Christopher's Hostel in Edinburgh to market through the development and execution of a coherent sales and marketing strategy. The role will endeavor to meet the organisational objectives of the new Edinburgh Belushi’s bar and St Christopher’s Hostel through the effective management of the marketing, promotional, PR and sales activity.

The position entails managing a wide range of sales and events projects, interacting with the venue, customers, organisations and recruiting potential new business. The position looks to deliver on a very strong launch strategy as well as a long term plan plan to grow the business.



The Primary Tasks of the role include facilitating the following
The Launch Activity
- Build out and execute a very strong launch strategy for both the bar and hostel including a successful opening event and PR activity locally as well as globally in coordination with the OLH marketing and sales team.

Long term strategy for both hostel and bar including:
-Identification of local markets and delivery of tailored campaigns to recruit new business and drive pre-booked sales.
-Establishing partnerships with local businesses, relevant groups and communities.
-Manage all pre bookings and events for the bar.
-Online interaction through social networks including paid.
-Establishing a database for targeted communications.
-Support in the collaborating on central activity and events.
-Maintain relationships with regular communication and incentives.
-Manage the events activity in venue such as sourcing live music / acts.
-Monitoring sales and results
-Conducting market research and identifying opportunities and improvements

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities of the position
-Consult with the group Sales and Events Manager and Sales and Marketing Manager to incorporate central sales and events activity
-Work with site managers to assist in achieving their own objectives and budgeted sales
-Building and maintaining relationships with local businesses and communities
-Developing standardised presentations, sales scripts and proposals.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Organisation, planning and effective project management skills.
-Problem analysis and creative problem-solving
-Team-leadership – ability to work collaboratively and efficaciously with teams
-Work autonomously - self-motivated, confident and energetic.

-Adaptability and innovative thinking
-Decision-making and ability to operate under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Necessary education and experience
-Understanding of the local Edinburgh leisure and hospitality landscape.
-Experience in a sales role and face to face/telephone/email selling to customers
-Experience in planning small and large scale events
-Relevant product and industry knowledge
-Experience with relevant software applications

-Forums: Expats + General listings. Current.
-Email marketing campaigns
-Social Media paid campaigns
-Consistency of messaging
