Description
Job Purpose:
Under the guidance of the Biergarten General Manager, oversee the day to day operations of the Standard Biergarten. The Assistant General Manager of Standard Biergarten is capable of managing a a beer garden as well as bringing new ideas and creativity to the venue. Emphasis on delivering outstanding guest service, staff development and financial profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure that the total operation of the Biergarten is maintained on a daily basis and that the needs of the owner, employees, members and guests are met and/or exceeded.
• Assist the General Manager with leading the Biergarten to meet and/or exceed financial obligations and profitability through overseeing and actively participating in sales, labor productivity, cost control, and effective purchasing including anticipating revenue/cost problems and managing the timing of discretionary expenditures.
• Implement, monitor, adhere to, and enforce compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards and local, state, and federal law as well as all mandated policies, procedures, and standards, as applicable.
• Implement ideas and plans to improve revenue for the Biergarten
• Communicate effectively and professionally with management team to include relaying pertinent information to subordinates, communicating expectations and appreciation, share "big picture”.
• Oversee and approve staffing levels/scheduling within budgetary guidelines and in accordance with operational needs.
• Supervise/counsel departmental managers in the effective and efficient operation of their respective area(s). Meet with, develop, and delegate improvement plans for operation.
• Maintain an Open Door Policy for line staff and management.
• Understand, maintain, and enforce fire prevention and emergency procedures to ensure the safety of all staff and guests.
• Monitor service trends by engaging with guests, reviewing guest comment cards and emails; make changes as necessary.



Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
• Must have 3-5 years related experience in food & beverage operations
• A four-year Degree in Hospitality and/or Restaurant Management preferred, but not required.
• Beer Garden experience preferred
• Outstanding interpersonal communication skills.
• Sound decision making; the calm in the storm.

• A proven track record in a management role with the ability to inspire, motivate and manage.
• Highly motivated and pro-active; act with professionalism and positivity in all interactions.
• Ability to deliver high and consistent service standards.

• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, which may include weekends and holidays.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Understanding of food & beverage outlets.

Physical Requirements:
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 15 lbs without assistance.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Remain in stationary position for extended periods of time.
