Brew Crew Opportunity

Our Global Brew Crew is looking for a Director, Roasting and Distribution (RAD) Operations, based in Camarillo, California. You will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of the coffee manufacturing process, ensuring the availability of high-quality green beans, efficient production, and distribution of coffee products globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the company’s manufacturing effort within the supply chain department, including manufacturing efficiency, production dashboards, asset utilization metrics and overall performance reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Global Head of Product Innovation & Development and Procurement team for specifying and approving any outsourced coffee & tea products that the company develops in conjunction with third-party suppliers.
  • Lead by example and drive people Safety and Quality excellence culture
  • Drive productivity improvements to optimize the total cost of RAD operations
  • Build people engagement, train and retain key people, develop succession plan for key roles
  • Ensure sufficient inventory of green beans across USA manufacturing facilities.
  • Aid the procurement process by providing timely feedback on samples, assisting in the identification and procurement of seasonal and year-round supplies.
  • Oversee the distribution of proprietary dry goods, such as Roasted Coffee, Powdered coffee, Single-serve, Ready-to-drink, and Instant coffee, involving co-packers, co-manufacturers, and vendors.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Global Customer Service & Americas Supply Chain to ensure efficient coffee distribution to all markets and regions (retail stores, cafes, specialty sales, e-commerce and other sales channels).
  • Responsible for overall inventory of green beans, raw materials and packaging materials at all USA manufacturing centres (company-owned and third-party manufacturers).
  • Work closely with the Product Development and Innovation teams on coffee-related innovations, packaging materials, and manufacturing formats.
  • Actively participate in the Global Food Safety Initiative at the manufacturing facility to ensure safe and legal food production, maintain compliance with FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), SQF certification, HACCP plans, Kosher, Halal, and Organic certifications, and organize facility-wide committees for comprehensive compliance.

Your Ingredients

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years in the coffee industry, with a focus on manufacturing and supply chain management.
  • Proven track record of leadership and successful management within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • In-depth understanding of the coffee industry, including sourcing, grading, processing, and quality control of green coffee beans.
  • Familiarity with coffee manufacturing processes, such as roasting, blending, packaging, and distribution.
  • Knowledge of coffee, industry associations, and market trends.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, including production planning, quality control, and compliance with food safety regulations.
