City Winery strives to deliver the highest-end combined culinary and cultural experience to our customers who are passionate in sharing wine, music, and culinary arts. We are a unique facility, combining a fully functioning winery with intimate concerts, food & wine classes, private events in a variety of configurations, and fine dining. Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager will serve as a cultural employee experience ambassador and compliance champion. This role will provide day to day support for a wide spread of human resources activities including personnel administration and general inquiries, employee relations, onboarding and hiring processes, and much more. The ideal candidate will have a keen sense of people judgement with fantastic EQ skills and a solid foundation in regulatory compliance.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a high-volume, fast paced human resources management role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Exceptional people skills, sound judgement, instinctual nature, and EQ
  • Deep understanding of labor laws and employment regulations for multi-state 
  • Prior experience utilizing HRIS software
  • Able to deliver effective results, meet deadlines and targets
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills including both written and verbal.
  • Aptitude to see the fine details, problem-solve, and regularly resolve conflict while maintaining composure
  • Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with all internal divisions
  • Must be organized and detail oriented and be effective in the use of time management.
  • Able to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations.
  • Proficient skill level of Microsoft Excel, Word
  • Able to work on a broad variety of projects and maneuver changing priorities.
  • Able and willing to work flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

 

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Support the cultivation of best-in-class employee experience and serving as a cultural champion
  • Master the onboarding experience, manage hiring pipeline and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Support day to day HR activities including but not limited to pre-employment, inter-employment, and offboarding
  • Support HR employee relations matters and conduct investigations through resolution; Maintain proper records
  • Ensure employment regulatory compliance with local, jurisdictional, state, federal, and other relates laws
  • Support compensation strategies, run market research, and assist with pay rate reviews
  • Oversee, refine, and enforce consistent performance management practices; counsel and advise on employee disciplinary matters as needed
  • Serve as advisor, counsel, and support system to management team
  • Conduct experience interviews to capture feedback and support retention efforts
  • Keep up to date with latest employment regulations, employee trends, HR trends, and best practices to create a top tier workplace 
  • General personnel administration, maintenance, and follow up including reporting, filing, scanning.
  • Perform HR management trainings as needed
  • Assist with and support recruitment efforts as needed
  • Ensure company handbook is up to date and support regulatory compliance updates for multiple states.
  • Support in facilitation of action to resolve employee issues and escalate to appropriate management team members.
  • Support and oversee pre-employment duties for on-boarding of new hires.
  • Maintain confidential personnel files with all necessary documents as required by state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure proper storage and recordkeeping requirements are maintained
  • General HR reporting, data analysis, ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Perform any and all other related functions, projects, initiatives as per business need.
