Description
City Winery New York is looking for top talent as we reopen our flagship location this spring at Hudson River Park. We are seeking an experienced KITCHEN RECEIVER to join our team!

City Winery, founded in New York City in 2008 by Michael Dorf, strives to deliver the highest-end combined culinary and cultural experience to our guests who are passionate in sharing enthusiasm around wine, music, and culinary arts. We are a unique facility, combining a fully functioning winery with intimate concerts, food & wine classes, private events in a variety of configurations, and fine dining.

Position Summary:
The Receiver is responsible for ensuring incoming and outgoing deliveries are properly received, accounted for, and stored including, but not limited to food, linen, supplies, beverage, and event rentals. The receiver ensures proper storage in accordance with Company guidelines and Department of Health & Sanitation standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
● 2+ years as Receiver in a high-volume food service environment and/or equivalent relevant experience
● Strong work ethic, calm demeanor with customer-focused approach, and immaculate attention to detail
● Demonstrated knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations
● Effective and articulate communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build positive relationships with people in the scope of employment
● Aptitude to resolve problems
● Well-organized with the ability to take direction from others with composure in high pressure environment
● Polished presentation
● Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
● Must be fluently literate in English including ability to read, write, and communicate, conduct business related mathematics and analyze data
● Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
● Ability to perform physical requirements of the role including standing/walking for entirety of shift, bending, pulling, pushing, using stairs, lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds


Overview of Responsibilities:
● Handle incoming and outgoing deliveries including set up, loading, unloading, storage, and breakdown
● Check deliveries for quality, damages, missing product
● Serve as point of contact for delivery representative upon arrival
● Ensure proper paperwork and invoices are received and distributed to appropriate management parties
● Maintain loading dock area
● Review incoming product against invoice/ receipt to ensure accuracy
● Take inventory and examine product pars to identify items that need to be reordered or replenished
● Store kitchen products in the walk-in cooler, freezer, or dry storage area, maintaining the organizational system already in place at location.
● Communicate with internal departments with respect to incoming and outgoing deliveries
● Maintain department cleanliness and organization, adhere to safe work and equipment practices, and follow all food safety, health and sanitation standards
● Ensure all products and prepared items are labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated following FIFO
● Exhibit mindfulness of volume due to open kitchen setting
● Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines including being ready to work at scheduled shift time, in uniform, with neat and presentable appearance.
● Perform all other reasonably assigned duties
