Description

Head of Procurement - Food & Beverage / Hospitality Sector 

A fantastic new opportunity for an experienced forward-thinking and innovative procurement professional to take on an exciting new challenge at Various Eateries, a collection of clubs, bars, restaurants and hotels.

Based at our London office, the Head of Procurement will be responsible for providing day to day procurement services to a range of divisions and sites across the UK and supporting other department heads wherever required.

  • Implementing strategies in food & beverage procurement, based on understanding business needs, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver cost reduction and optimise business functions
  • Develop and implement strategies for manufacturing, storing, and distributing bespoke goods and maintaining stock levels
  • Successfully connecting with internal and external stakeholders, including global food & beverage suppliers, to embed the best practices and create the most effective, long-lasting relationships
  • Transform the supply process through negotiating and developing strong supplier relationships
  • Leading procurement in driving cost, quality, supply and sustainability improvements through tactical and strategic sourcing activities, including supplier relationship management, vendor consolidation and purchase compliance across the VEL brands.
  • Be part of developing, implementing and then advocating the procurement strategy for the VEL group
  • Driving continuous improvement, best value and quality partnerships with suppliers, contributing to spend targets and KPIs.
  • Collaborating with the food & beverage leadership team on all menu development and advise accordingly
  • Ensure any statements made relating to sustainability, animal welfare etc are accurate and standards maintained/enhanced
  • Ensure Procure Wizard is managed effectively, including approving listings and full integration of new suppliers
  • To prepare monthly procurement reports for the Executive Team
  • Liaise with Food safety Consultants on supplier accreditation, product labelling, allergen information and any other legal requirements. 

About You

As Head of Procurement, you will be able to demonstrate managerial skills and be able to communicate effectively with suppliers, unit managers and staff at all levels. You must be able to prioritise your workload effectively, demonstrate practical solutions and evaluate opportunities in relation to the success of the business.

  • A minimum of 4 years experience in the field of purchasing and procurement, ideally in the hospitality/food and beverage sector.
  • Significant procurement experience across multiple business areas demonstrated by an active and progressive career to date.
  • Experience implementing and embedding procurement behaviours in a commercial organisation.
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Management Procedures
  • Strong influencing skills at a senior level to influence new ways of working;
  • Confident negotiator when working with whatever level of internal or external stakeholder
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Extensive knowledge of procurement and purchasing processes within multisite food and beverage operations
  • Working knowledge of negotiation, contract law, forecasting and competitor analysis
  • Proven experience of creating and implementing business processes
