Description

We are now looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join our Head Office team. This role will support the Head of Finance in delivering all day to day financial tasks.

You:
The role of Management Accountant would suit someone who is actively working towards their accreditations, either ACCA or similar. Working closely with and reporting into the Head of Finance on a daily basis as their number two in a Finance team of three. The role is an opportunity to take the next step in your career, working in a luxury boutique London hospitality group, backed by a major London finance house.

Key Responsibilities of a Management Accountant:
• Manage a timely month-end process to produce quality financial information for review by Head of Finance.
• Responsible for the preparation and review of monthly and annual management accounts, including full balance sheet reconciliations.
• Perform day to day banking and daily bank reconciliation for all bank accounts.
• Work closely with the purchase ledger clerk to ensure supplier statements are being reconciled on a monthly basis.
• Reconciliation of daily cash sheets from restaurants, ensuring that all sales including cash amounts and debit/credit card payments are received and accurate. Communicate any discrepancies to site General Manager.
• Responsible for initial production of Gross Profit Workings to be reviewed by Head of Finance. This will involve close contact with the stock controllers for Wet and Dry stock and analysing of stock system for discrepancies.
• Responsible for preparation of VAT return to be reviewed by Head of Finance.
• Involved with POS set up for new menus to ensure all sales are captured.
• You’ll work closely with the Head of Finance and get involved in ad hoc pieces of financial analysis for the businesses and be challenged to undertake a variety of other work.
• Deal with internal and external queries in a timely fashion.
• Deal with queries from the external auditors.
• Actively improve and find efficiencies in existing processes.

Skills we are looking for in a Management Accountant:
• Impeccable attention to detail.
• Strong excel skills.
• Multi-site experience preferred but not essential.
• Experience with Sage preferred but not essential.
• You are independent, a self-starter and able to manage your own workload.
• You can communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, you are not afraid to challenge and influence them.
• You are adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing demands and priorities.
