Description
Golden Age Hospitality – the group who brought you Happiest Hour, Slowly Shirley, Ray's, Tijuana Picnic, Lemon's (Wythe Hotel), and Le Crocodile (formerly Reynard) – is looking for an experienced and dedicated Maitre D' to join our team. We are a service-driven, internal hospitality group committed to giving our guests a positively memorable experience. Interested candidates should have proven experience in the NYC restaurant/hospitality scene, or an equivalent high-volume locale. You must be available nights and weekends, without exception.
Primary requirements:
- Maintain a mastery of the proper table numbers, seat positions, and flow of service
- Excellent communication when coordinating with Hosts, Server, and Managers to seat guests in a warm hospitable manner, while also anticipating the needs of the restaurant
- Strong communication and listening skills to effectively deliver accurate messaging to both guests and teammates
- More than basic knowledge and understanding of classic cookery, wine, beer, and cocktails
- Maintain accurate knowledge on hours of operation, relevant service and facility information, and upcoming events at the restaurant
- Have a general knowledge and understanding of Department of Health (DOH) food safety standards
- Ability to remain calm and professional in an often high pressure atmosphere
