Assistant Bar Manager

Description

Grind is a hospitality company that lives in London. Since opening Shoreditch Grind in 2011, the brand has expanded across London with restaurants and café-bars, burning the candle at both ends to serve coffee, food, and cocktails to a killer soundtrack.

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Bar Manager (ABM) who enjoys making classical drinks with contemporary twists and working with a team of aspiring bar mixologists. Evenings at GRIND offer a variety of classics, coffee cocktails and guest cocktails. We’re all about creating a buzzing atmosphere by turning up the tunes, dimming the lights and serving the best espresso martini in London. We are looking for energetic night owls to join the Grind Crew in any of our Central London Locations!

As Assistant Bar Manager (ABM), of course we expect the usual stuff on a day-to-day basis; great service, cocktail consistency and some quality shaking. You will need to demonstrate previous experience in leading a busy bar team in a very busy and high-volume hospitality environment. You must support the Bar Manager in driving sales and meeting targets, and help in training the bar team to meet GRIND bar standards at all times. We expect at least 1 year of experience working in a bar environment, and a 'work with the team' approach/attitude at all times.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Support the management team in the running of a high volume & fast-paced bar
  2. Possess full understanding of GRIND Steps of Service
  3. Deliver exemplary service in line with our procedures
  4. Help to deliver bar training & developing programs to all bar staff
  5. Support with hiring and onboarding of all new bar staff
  6. Motivate the bar team and project a positive attitude at all times.
  7. To participate in necessary Management meetings.
  8. To help the Bar Manager with beverage stock control and bar management
  9. To abide by the house rules at all times
  10. Displays a smart and professional appearance, representing the company in a positive manner

Skills Required:

  • Possess excellent communication skills to enable effective dialogue with colleagues and customers
  • Ability to work well under pressure and use initiative
  • Ability to problem solve and escalate complaints accordingly
  • Dedicated team-player, who strives for excellence and leads by example
  • Strong time-management and prioritisation skills
Perks & Benefits:

  • Crew Card Membership - 50% off all Food & Beverage at every Grind restaurant and cafe-bar.
  • Retail discount on Grind at Home products
  • Up to £300 referral bonus
  • 3 month Retention Bonus
  • Invitation to our Social Events
  • Access to Wellness Scheme

If this gets you going we would love to hear from you, please submit a copy of your CV alongside your application.

Only those eligible to work in the UK or have a valid UK work permit/visa will be considered for the above position.

Grind is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all candidates and employees.
