Description
SUMMARY

Midtown cocktail bar and restaurant is seeking a friendly host! If you enjoy people and love hospitality, we want to hear from you. Ideal candidates are welcoming and can get to know local patrons on a first-name basis. Qualified candidates should be comfortable standing for long periods, are confident with high-volume operations and appreciate being a part of a team.

HOST RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet guests as they arrive and offer parting remarks as they depart
• Seat guests and maintain the flow of waiting areas
• Answer phone lines, take messages, transfer calls
• Coordinate reservations via OpenTable
• Manage waitlists as necessary; provide accurate wait time estimates
• Provide guests with menus and answering any initial questions
• Manage volume and service flow by rotating seating
• Responsible for ensuring a neat and organized front of house that reflects our establishment
• Respond to guest inquiries and complaints with attention and urgency
• Assist with additional opening/closing tasks and side work as needed
• Thoughtfully engage with guests to ensure a memorable, hospitable experience

HOST REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1-2 years NYC restaurant experience preferred
• OpenTable experience preferred
• A positive attitude and the ability work well under pressure
• Ability to provide high level guest relations in a fast-paced environment
• A commitment to high-quality work while unsupervised
• Willingness to follow instructions and ask questions as needed
• Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
• Ability to lift 35+ lbs
