Assistant Housekeeping Manager


Description

Hotel June is seeking an Assistant Housekeeping Manager  for our ideally located 250-room re-imagined Hotel on the Westside with two restaurants, creative event venues, and a spectacular pool deck. Hotel June is the flagship of a new thoughtful, accessible, lifestyle brand from the team that brought you Proper Hotels.


Job Overview
  • Manages a team of Room Attendants and Housepersons responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of a specific area of the hotel
  • Assists with  interviews, training, and scheduling the team
  • Conducts Performance Evaluations and disciplines staff as needed
  • Schedules work to be done daily, collects room and floor status sheets for assigned work areas
  • Monitors each Room Attendant’s daily progress and inspects completed rooms to assure that all standards have been met
  • Coordinates work orders in assigned section and follows up to be sure work is completed
  • Monitors the performance of Housepersons and assures that there are enough supplies on the guest floors
  • Monitors cleanliness of guest corridors, stairwells, elevators and Linen Closets
  • Approaches all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive friendly courteous and service-oriented manner
  • Ensures the proper use of radio etiquette within the housekeeping department
  • Schedules routine inspections of all guest rooms/suites and public areas to ensure everything is clean and in good repair
  • Assist in controlling expenses and minimizing waste in all areas of housekeeping
  • Conduct pre-shift meeting and review all information pertinent to the day's activities
  • Assist with the review of Housekeeping staff's worked hours for payroll compilation and submit to accounting on a timely basis
  • Assist with the preparation of employee schedule according to the business forecast payroll budget guidelines and productivity requirements. Submits the schedule and wage progress report to the Housekeeping Manager weekly for review
  • Assist with the overall supervision of daily inspection for arriving V.I.P.'s
  • Ensure lobbies guest hallways guest rooms and the back of the house areas are cleaned to brand standards
  • Assist with deep cleaning projects
  • Properly store secure and issue supplies as needed to meet business demands
  • Complete all reports in a timely and efficient manner as required by management
  • Review Guest Request Log daily to ensure that all requests have been met taking proactive steps to address problems before they occur
  • Ensure completion of regular maintenance and cleaning projects
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager or Director of Operations

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years previous supervisory experience in Heart-of-House Hotel Operations
  • Spanish speaking required
  • InFor HMS knowledge preferred
  • Strong written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
  • Proactive attitude with strong organizational and time management skills
  • The ability to motivate and inspire others to work cooperatively to achieve a designated goal
  • Flexible schedule - Willing and able to work shift duties that may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand throughout entire shift
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
