Finance Assistant

We have an exciting position available for a Finance Assistant to join our growing central team at Island Poke!

About us:
Bringing the laid back and vibrant 'island style' to Central London, we're a Hawaiian grab-and-go restaurant serving an interactive offering of poké (a deconstructed sushi if you didn't know!).
We genuinely love to share the spirit of Aloha with our customers and employees, and have opened six sites in our first two years across Central London - but this is just the beginning! We are looking to expand considerably in the near future, and there will be plenty of opportunity to progress within the company as we continue to grow.

The Role:
The Finance assistant will support the Finance Director with day to day accounting tasks, assist in driving performance and monitor and control change initiatives. Will provide, where applicable, advice and support to other managers within the location with regards to financial control procedures

The "day to day" as a Finance Assistant includes:
" Managing purchase ledger end to end - approving invoices via our automated platform, ensuring invoices are approved at site level as required, producing accurate and timely payment run reports
" Assist the Finance Director in preparation of weekly trading/KPI reporting updates
" Daily posting of Revenue and Income Audits, monitoring the use of discounting and voids
" Daily bank reconciliations
" Assisting in producing accruals and prepayments for month end Management Accounts
" Assisting in the production of Month end management accounts
" Adhoc reporting as and when required

What we are looking for:
" Ideally working towards AAT or another professional accounting qualification (ACCA,CIMA)
" Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
" Industry experience an advantage
" Strong numeric and analytical skills and attention to detail
" Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate oral and written information concisely and logically amongst all levels of management
" Pro-active
" Self-motivated with an ability to effectively plan and organise own work
" Ability to work both independently and as part of a close nit team
" Ability to adapt to a changing environment
" Right first-time attitude
