Description


We are looking for a Cost Accounting Manager--- a full-time permanent position in our Finance Department located at the corporate office in West Covina, CA. The Cost Accounting Manager oversees and manages the key costs drivers across the business units (from Store Operations to Manufacturing and Supply Chain), safeguarding and optimizing the various business models in the group.  S/he oversees the cost control systems, manages and interprets cost audits and prepares cost accounting reports for presentation to top Management. Further, s/he gathers historical cost data (materials, labor, depreciation, operating expenses, etc) to compare with budgets and latest forecasts. Additionally, the Cost Accounting Manager is responsible for managing, analyzing, and evaluating costing of raw materials, in-process and finished.  S/he determines both fixed and variable costs associated with production, key KPIs, performance metrics, breakeven point, and then ultimately profit.

Typical responsibilities will include the following:

Cost Management & Strategies

1.    Update costs for both Store/Restaurant and Manufacturing businesses to ensure accurate and timely reflection of margins and profitability   

2.    Forecast costs based on business dynamics and market/industry trends or developments

3.    Determine costs and margins across the different business units/brands, across multiple pricing or cost tiers/regions/countries

4.    Recommend pricing based on target margins across businesses

5.    Determine per unit cost for new and existing products, considering all product and production cost components (raw materials, equipment, labor)

6.    Facilitate activity-based costing

7.    Recommend and manage transfer pricing for optimal overall business results

8.    Assume role of custodian for Menu List and Pricing

9.    Recommend strategies on cost management

10.  Determine and Analyze costs and margin variances

11.  Conduct inventory reconciliation and audits (physical / wall-to-wall counts)

People Management & Development

1.    Achieve Management Team Effectiveness through:

Ø  Effective communication and coordination among team members

Ø  Maintaining and/or enhancing morale level among team members

Ø  Effective Performance Management

2.    Lead & Coach Team Members

Ø  Lead the Analyst(s) in daily & periodic tasks

Ø  Coach and develop direct reports to elevate their competencies and skills sets, enabling them to take on higher functions and responsibilities

Others

  • Collaborate and initiate business meetings with internal/external partners to achieve desired results related to work accountabilities.
  • Travel: Visit other facilities nationwide as needed

Basic Qualifications:

·         At least College Degree or related courses in Business, Management, Finance, or equivalent course.

·         6+ years of progressive experience in Cost Accounting / Finance / Analytics preferably in the food service, manufacturing or retail industry, or any equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

·         Hands-on experience in managing or leading teams
