Sous Chef - Immediate Start

Description

D&D London is a group of diverse restaurants, bars and hotels based principally in London, but also with venues in Paris and New York. It was founded by Des Gunewardena and David Loewi (the eponymous D and D) in 2006, following a buyout of Conran Restaurants. Since then the company has become a vital player in London’s famous restaurant scene, owning some of the capital’s most celebrated restaurants, including Quaglino’s, Le Pont de la Tour, Bluebird and Coq d’Argent. Situated in Cabot Circus, Klosterhaus is our first restaurant in Bristol, set within the beautiful Grade 1 listed Quakers Friars building. Guests can expect a dining room that celebrates the grand cafés of central Europe; a bar serving classic and modern cocktails (a design we think oozes glamour), plus an array of event spaces and outdoor terraces.

Call this your ‘Haus away from Home’. There are so many reasons to visit, be it morning coffee or lunches, brunches, a post-shopping light bite, a sophisticated dinner in the restaurant or a 5pm cocktail (or two!).

The menu is broad-ranging, featuring some German classics – all of which are complimented by an eclectic wine and beer menu of household to less discovered names.

We are looking for a passionate Sous Chef who will have the food knowledge and skills to lead the team in order to deliver outstanding food and in turn, a superb guest experience. You will work with the Head Chef and restaurant management team to ensure consistent high standards in both service and kitchen management- with a heavy emphasis on all aspects of Health and Safety.

As the Sous Chef your main responsibilities will be to oversee and direct all aspects of the kitchen in an effective efficient and productive manner under the guidance of the Head-Chef. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen from mise en place to service. You will be responsible for quality, efficiency and effectiveness in which food is prepared and sent to the pass.

As a leader you will build a motivated and integrated team by clearly communicating expectations and providing constructive feedback, identify training needs and manage and assist in the training so that required standards are achieved

D&D London is a collection of restaurants as individual as you are. We’re a truly brilliant place to work so, naturally we have some of the very best team benefits around, which include:
• Industry leading pay.
• Healthy, free and tasty meals when working.
• 28 days paid holiday a year (which increases with every year you work for us).
• Best in class personal development and training – including the opportunity to complete the industry-leading D&D Diploma.
• An optional paid day each year to give back and volunteer.
• Discount in all of our restaurants – 40% off all day, every day.
• Access to the LifeWorks app where you can get free mobile phone insurance, half price cinema tickets and 50% PureGym.
• And much more!

Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant is essential.
