Malibu Farm is seeking an experienced floor manager to join our team.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Caring for our guests through a hospitable presence on the floor and through coaching of the management and Front of House Staff
  • Making appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines to ensure total guest satisfaction
  • Train, lead, and coach FOH team to deliver highest levels of guest service.
  • Create staff training manuals and adhere to all our restaurant policies
  • New hire procedure including safety training, service standards, restaurant policies and procedures, point of sale system for line staff and managers
  • Identifying and recognizing regular patrons to develop repeat business
  • Ensuring Department of Health compliance
  • Supporting FOH staff through appropriate management and supervision to include scheduling, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and counseling employees; addressing employee concerns and resolving issues
  • Operate ethically to protect the image of company.

 KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • A minimum of two (2) years fine dining/premium casual restaurant management experience, preferably in NYC and supervised at least of team of 20
  • General knowledge of wines and spirits including technical and service aspects is preferred
  • General knowledge of food preparation methods and culinary terminology
  • General knowledge of NYC Labor Laws
  • Computer literacy to include: Genesis, Aloha, Micros, Microsoft Office, Harri and OpenTable/Resy 
  • Ability to compose reports, business correspondence, task lists and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, team members and guests in a professional manner
  • Ability to apply creative solutions to practical problems and situations where limited standardization exists
  • Ability to remain flexible in determining a variety of problem-solving approaches
  • The ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company philosophy, policies, and applicable laws
  • FULL AVAILABILITY- daytime hours, evening hours, weekends, and holidays

Malibu Farm, the farm-to-table purveyor founded by Helene Henderson, is making its way to Pier 17 this summer. Freshly prepared food will be served against the backdrop of one of Manhattan’s most impressive views.
