WHAT WE ARE HUNGRY FOR

 

We are seeking a New Store Development Manager who has responsibility for both Corporate and Franchise new store openings and transfers. For Franchise openings or transfers, the NSDM will be responsible for building a solid, credible, business relationship with newly signed Franchisees by guiding them through all the steps necessary for a successful grand opening or transfer process.

For Corporate New Store Openings, the NSDM is responsible supporting all internal departments and external partners, through the process of a successful opening.

The NSDM, is also responsible for ensuring all timeline tasks in the Café Development Roadmap are being adhered to and successfully completed in a timely manner. This includes tasks assigned to each Department such as Marketing, Supply Chain, Training, Finance and Accounting, Information Technology, Real Estate, Legal.  The NSDM is the main point person on both Corporate and Franchise openings for all parties involved, to ensure timelines and company expectations are met and questions/concerns are resolved. The role requires a solid understanding of the Paris Baguette team of internal and external resources in order to coordinate the openings/transfers with the right partners.

 

The NSDM is also required to promote the positive image of Paris Baguette within the community of franchisees, vendors, and professionals we do business with, while emulating at all times Paris Baguette’s Vision, Mission, and Brand Values.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to establish and develop credible relationships with new franchisees, both owners and General Managers.
  • Leads all new owners through the new store opening process using the onboarding orientation programs.
  • Primary contact for the Franchisees, Field Operations Team, Training and Development Team, District Managers and General Managers for new openings and transfers.
  • Solid business acumen, including P&L knowledge, operations and production expertise, as well as brand alignment, to provide franchisees consultation on all aspects of their business for successful execution.
  • Determine and manage new store opening budget per property for all expenses.
  • Knowledge of Paris Baguette expectations, policies and all Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Act as a point of contact for Franchise owner and/GM’s to resolve all questions or concerns.
  • Manager all new store openings through the Fran Connect platform and Café Roadmap process, holding department point of contacts accountable to follow up and ownership.
  • Strong partnerships and knowledge of departments such as Marketing, Purchasing and Supply Chain, Training and Development, and HR, in order to adequately support franchisees with these teams support for openings.
  • Train Franchisees on Franconnect platform.
  • Assist Franchisees on setting up new vendor accounts.
  • Support Franchisees on determining and placing all opening orders (small wares, food, paper, office, other) based on projected sales.
  • Support Franchisees on manpower planning, staffing, and scheduling per appropriate pars.
  • Support Franchisees with their soft and grand opening marketing plan, in conjunction with the Marketing department.
  • Ensure store is set up to standard (marketing, station set up, merchandising, job aids, wall items installation).
  • Establish a post-opening support plan to ensure continued café success.
  • Provide support and direction to the Pro Team members on assigned new store opening.
  • Provide feedback and process improvement to new store openings.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays, as well as, extended workdays to support business needs.
  • Other duties may be assigned

 

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE

·        5-7 years progressive operations and/or training and development experience in a fast paced and rapidly growing retail environment.

·        Experience with a fast growing Franchise Company is required.

·        Experience with high velocity new store openings required.

·        Bakery/Café experience preferred.

·        Flexible, adaptive, upbeat, open and visible work style, with a successful track record of supporting operations leaders across a large geographically decentralized portfolio.

·        Passion for people! Dynamic and engaged leader who has a passion for empowering, inspiring, motivating & developing team members and franchisee relationships.
