Reports to: Director of Operational Services


With a projected 1,000 cafes in the United States by 2030, Paris Baguette is one of the fastest-growing neighborhood bakery cafés in the world. WHAT WE ARE HUNGRY FOR


As the Construction Design Manager, you will be responsible for creating outstanding design solutions that support the vision of a cross functional team to deliver a successful branded customer experience and by meeting store design, cost, schedule, and store interior requirements. In addition, you will develop the current store imagery and the growth of international presence through design enhancements as well as the creation of new store concepts and the integration of new strategic initiatives that will come to life within the bakery café environment. The Construction Design Manager will implement the selection of vendors, contracts, lay-out work, and external/internal construction which are included in design and construction process for new store openings.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop initial ideas and acquire key information about potential projects while discussing requirements in detail
  • Research and gather information and photographs relating to the project
  • Prepare detailed working drawings, designs, plans, models and schemes, often using computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Support Concept teams understanding of local regions to support local relevance and design adaptations
  • Participate in regional know how building, travel as needed for project execution support
  • Review and approve design adaptations and assurance of brand standards including equipment layouts, signage, and Imaging
  • Develop and support internal/ external communications and presentations through the development of imagery and copy
  • Develop and maintain design guide integrating best practices of material sourcing, pricing and procurement
  • Work directly with Franchise business units to ensure consistent execution of brand standards and to promote self-sufficiency in overall design
  • Collaborate with cross- functional teams and other key stakeholders to meet project objectives
  • New Store Opening
  • Complete field study for expected location and prepare lay-out
  • Review and confirm estimate for construction
  • Manage vendors bidding and selection
  • Purchase materials and check in with delivery statuses
  • Create detailed construction drawings
  • Oversee architects and contractors during build out
  • Evaluate the final output
  • Identify any fixtures and furnishings in need of repair and find solutions


WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture/Design, required
  • 8-10 years of Architecture/Design experience in Commercial, Retail, Hospitality, Entertainment design
  • Advanced knowledge of design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Auto CAD, Auto Sketch, and SketchUp
  • Knowledge of 3D design programs, preferred
  • Management of outside architectural design consultants, decor vendor, signage vendors
  • Knowledge of color theory and ability to coordinate and assemble color and material selections
  • Knowledge of bakery café functionality, front of house (FOH) lay out, back of house (BOH) equipment integration, and adaptation
  • Ability to design executable concepts that are clearly innovative
  • Flexible, adaptive, upbeat, open and visible work style, with a successful track record of supporting operations leaders across a large geographically decentralized portfolio.
