Server Assistant


Description

Key Responsibilities

Server Assistants are responsible for ensuring guests have a positive experience by exhibiting unsurpassed hospitality.  Duties and tasks include:

  • Prepare tables for meals, including setting up linens, silverware, or glassware.
  • Serve food to guests and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required.
  • Prepare or serve hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, tea, or soft drinks.
  • Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters and take them to the kitchen or bar for cleaning.
  • Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining.
  • Check-in with guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take corrective action if any issues arise.
  • Perform cleaning duties, such as tidying up food server stations and brewers.
  • Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens in preparation for the next shift or large parties.
  • Provide guests with information about the Seaport, including giving directions.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of two years’ experience working in a fast-paced lounge, rooftop, etc.
  • Desire and dedication to offer impeccable dining service
  • Organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic and outgoing demeanor
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing guest services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Stamina to stand for long periods of time, including walking up and down stairs
  • Physical ability to lift trays of food, glasses and other objects that might be a part of daily duties.
