Financial Controller

Description

As Financial Controller with Pizza Pilgrims you with report to the Finance Director and manage and work closely with the current finance team and supporting our wider operations team.

A bit about us:

A plan was hatched, why don't we fly to the toe-end of Italy, pick up a three-wheel Piaggio Ape van (max speed 30mph) and drive the 4,500km back to London? Along the way we could stop off at all the top pizza destinations, learning from the masters. This is exactly what James & Thom (the PP founders) did. Once back, a market stall was set up and pizza was fed to the locals of Soho.

The first Pizzeria we opened was in 2012, we now have 13 pizzerias across London and 1 in Oxford. We have plans for growth but it is a slow and steady approach.

As Financial Controller, what might I be doing you ask? In a nutshell…

·       Supporting the growth of Pizza Pilgrims through People – Leading, supporting and coaching the current finance team, ensuring that they stay focussed on the job in hand but that their potential is also maximized, so they are also able to reach their own personal goals.

·       Getting stuck in – We have a small finance team and will expect you to be quite hands on, getting stuck in while also supporting your team with their own responsibilities.

·       Ways of Working – Implementing, improving and monitoring of policies and procedures within the finance team and also across the wider business to ensure we stay efficient as Pizza Pilgrims grows, including taking advantage of advances in technology.

·       Month to Month– Ensuring that the monthly management accounts are delivered on time, including both Pizzeria and group profit & losses, balance sheet, cash flow and also the board report.

·       Prepare & Reviewing- You will prepare and review the month-end files.  Reconciling the relevant control accounts and ensuring they are produced accurately and within good time of your deadlines.

·       Manage the Money- Manage the cash budget process and reporting to Financial Director, including the review of all payments made by Pizza Pilgrims.

·       Audits- All aspects of audit preparation, statutory accounting.

·       Payments- Produce and ensure the accurate and timely payments for the group’s VAT & corporation tax liabilities.

·       New Pizzerias- Monitor and manage new site project appraisal and budget comparison.

·       Have an Opinion - Work closely with the Finance Director t challenge and improve the financial processes across the business.

·       One team one dream - Work closely with other areas of the business and ensure that everyone is aligned and joined up to deliver an overall great business performance.

About you:

·       Obviously, you need to love Pizza.

·       Currently, you might as an experienced Senior Management Accountant ready for the next step.  You will be fully qualified with a good amount post qualification experience.

·       Your time management skills will be pretty good, and you will like the challenge of prioritising and organising both yourself and the team to meet tight deadlines.

·       Problem solving will not phase you, and you will love to come up with new ways of working and new, forward thinking ideas to benefit Pizza Pilgrims.

·       Be keen to lead a small team, sharing your knowledge and experience to enable them to grow.

·       You will love to get stuck in, we are pretty hands-on team.

Above all you be ready for a really exciting move in your career. You can have a huge impact in the growth and success of Pizza Pilgrims and will be fully supported to reach your own personal goals too.

Did we mention pizza? You will love Pizza.

It goes without saying you will be paid a good salary, bonus and benefits package.

There is also all the Pizza...
