The Rainbow Room, the quintessential New York venue, has been the site of some of the city's most celebrated events since first opening in 1934.

Your Role….

o The Manager of Bar SixtyFive will assist with daily operations of Bar SixtyFive at Rainbow Room, located on the 65th Floor of 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
o Will work closely with the operations and culinary team to ensure the service, food and beverage experience is at the levels of the most highly rated restaurants in the United States.
o Responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction is met during each service period.
o Will lead the hourly team each service period to ensure productivity and resolve any service related issues.
o Assist with of cost centers for Bar SixtyFive in relation to P&L.
o Responsible for ensuring the Bar SixtyFive space is well maintained.
o Above all must actively embody, inspire and teach the core values to all employees.

What you do...

o Supervise Hourly Staff. Responsibilities include assisting with interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and counseling employees; addressing employee concerns and resolving problems. Directly supervises staff through education, employee motivation and consults with General Manager, Director of A la Carte, and Human Resources on disciplinary action.
o Maintain proper staffing levels by sourcing, interviewing and hiring qualified candidates who embody the core values of the Rainbow Room.
o Supervision and modification of the training program for all new hires.
o Assure that all new hires are trained to standards and successfully complete training requirements.
o Participate in ongoing staff meetings to discuss personnel, operational and service related issues.
o Participate and lead daily pre-shift meetings to discuss shift related issues and provide the staff with necessary information.
o Manage scheduling, payroll and all other administrative tasks for the Hosts (includes Lead Hosts, Reservationists, Coat Check & Lobby Ambassador)
o Properly oversee daily service in the Bar SixtyFive.
o Monitor and direct operations to ensure product and service quality, in the absence of the Director.
o Oversee that uniform guidelines are being adhered to.
o Communicate information to the kitchen and other supportive departments prior to and during service.
o Leading by example, through actions, words and behaviors that influence others to act and respond in ways that are valuable & appropriate to Rainbow Room’s Core Values.
o Fostering a team oriented environment, within Bar SixtyFive Department and all other RR teams.
o Ensure that Bar SixtyFive storage facilities, other areas are maintained, organized and hygienic.
o The Manager must regularly communicate to groups of waiting guests in a positive and diplomatic manner.
o Empowers employees to provide excellent guest service
o The Manager of Bar SixtyFive takes direction from the Director in management of P&L, bill payment and other relevant office functions. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company philosophy, policies and applicable laws.

o Required 2 years of previous Food & Beverage managerial experience at an operation with similar service, guest relations and operational standards. Extensive and practiced knowledge luxury service standards.
o Ability to use Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook and basic database programs.
o Must be fluent in English. Helpful if conversant in Spanish, French or Italian. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business documents, safety rules, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to compose reports, business correspondence, task lists and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, team members and guests.
o Ability to apply creative solutions to practical problems and situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to remain flexible in determining a variety of problem solving approaches. The employee must have the ability to maintain emotionally healthy composure and professionalism in stressful situations.
o Must have open availability including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays.
o Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
o Experience in a fast paced environment and ability to multi-task and work under pressure while still being detail oriented and personable.
o Exceptional organizational and administrative skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
o A significant portion of the work day requires walking and standing.
o Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the facility on a timely basis.
o Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
