Description
Santa Monica Proper is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Overnight Front Desk Host. A seamless merger of historic retrofit and new construction, the 271-room Santa Monica Proper hotel features interior design by international style icon Kelly Wearstler, multiple dining options by local area culinary stars, a rooftop lounge and swimming pool, 8,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and almost 7,000 square feet of ground floor retail.

The Overnight Front Desk Host delivers excellent customer service at all times and creates personable and memorable experiences for guests. The Overnight Front Desk Host also checks front office accounting records for accuracy and, on a daily basis, summarizes and compiles information for the guest's financial records, tracks revenues, occupancy percentages, and other property operating and financial statistics on a nightly basis.

Responsibilities
• Posts room charges and taxes to guest accounts
• Processes any charges voucher and credit card vouchers
• Transfer charges and deposits to master accounts
• Verifies all account postings and balances
• Tracks revenues, occupancy percentages, and other property statistics.
• Prepares a summary of cash, check, and credit card activities
• Summarizes results of operations for management
• Prepares of End of day procedures
• Runs end of day process in property management software
• Understand principles of auditing, balancing, and closing out accounts
• Monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises overnight
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances
• Patrol premises as needed to prevent and detect signs of intrusion
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the Manager
• Acknowledges, responds and executes any resident requests received during their shift

Qualifications
• At least 2 – 3 years of Front Desk Experience
• Tech savvy
• Opera PMS knowledge
• Basic knowledge and experience with Microsoft office products and the internet
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Proactive and productive
• Strong customer service skills
• Outstanding interpersonal skills
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, consistent with the needs of the property
• Experience working with demanding clientele
• Excellent communication skills- both oral and written
• Strong Multi-tasking skills a must
• Strong ability to assess a situation, show good judgment, and resolve conflicts
• Attentive to details with excellent follow-through skills
• Able to work under pressure
