Description

Santa Monica Proper is seeking a motivated, service-driven Director of Food & Beverage to oversee all F&B outlets at our flagship property on L.A.'s West side. A seamless merger of historic retrofit and new construction, our 271-room hotel features interior design by international style icon Kelly Wearstler, multiple dining options by local area culinary stars, a rooftop lounge and swimming pool, and 16,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

This key role will oversee and manage the daily operations of all outlets, creating and maintaining established quality and service standards, maximizing profits and controlling expenses. This position requires exceptional leadership and vision. The Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for fostering and developing an exciting, positive, results-based environment for the Food & Beverage team. Must possess strong personal organization, genuine hospitality, and care for staff. Additionally, understanding and implementing contemporary luxury/lifestyle standards is crucial.

Responsibilities

- Direct oversight of the hiring, training, coaching, development, and discipline for F&B staff
- Seek new opportunities and devises strategies for the improvement of the F&B operations
- Create and maintain procedural protocol for F&B Operations
- Maintain the quality and consistency of the guest experience
- Responsible for Food and Beverage financial performance including but not limited to: annual budgeting and operating plans, covers/revenue goals and achieving budgeted expense targets
- Liaise with all hotel departments to represent F&B operations
- Maintain compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and standards
- Oversee operations in compliance with legal and regulatory agency requirements
- Oversee the completion of operations reports, financial documentation, guest correspondence, human resources / staff management paperwork, operations evaluations, standard operating procedures, safety and sanitations checklists, ordering and inventory documentation, and PR/marketing tasks

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of Hotel or Resort Food & Beverage Management experience required. Previous Director Food & Beverage experience also required.
