Description
Taking its name from the iconic tower built for the 1951 Festival of Britain, Skylon is something special. From the unrivalled vantage point of the Royal Festival Hall in the Southbank Centre, Skylon’s floor-to-ceiling windows overlook one of London’s most gorgeous views of the Thames. The striking space, centred around a chic cocktail bar, is the perfect place for celebrations great and small. The menu focuses on modern British cuisine showcasing the best, seasonal ingredients in a relaxed environment.

As the Back of House Manager, it will be your responsibility to ensure the seamless running of all deliveries into Skylon Restaurant in the most efficient and effective manner. Delivering the highest possible standards of service, whilst being pro-active in maintaining and/or reducing costs. To ensure that F&B Shop invoicing, stock security, control procedures and stock reconciliation is adhered to.

You will be accepting goods and deliveries for the restaurant and then distributing appropriately. You will check the quality, prices, weights and specification of all deliveries to make sure they meet the restaurant requirements whilst reporting all discrepancies to a senior member of the kitchen team.

You will also ensure that the Back of House store areas are kept tidy and organised. Refuse acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items. Adhere to food safety and handling policies and procedures across all food-related areas. Organize, clean, and sanitize all refrigerators and freezers, floors, food equipment, and drains. Remove empty pallets, cardboard, and trash and place in proper storage areas.

Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.

To maintain high level of communication and teamwork by showing co-operation and support to colleagues in the pursuit of department and restaurant goals. To have a positive impact, taking personal responsibility and initiative to resolve issues, always clearly communicating with both customers and colleagues

You will oversee the Kitchen Porter team and ensure a smooth running of service at all times. You will be responsible for the training of all Kitchen Porters in all aspects of Health and Safety ,COSHH and HACCAP policies and procedures.
This role reports to the Head Chef.

The ideal candidate will:
• Have Experience as a Goods Receiver in a busy restaurant, club or hotel environment
• Excellent Leadership skills to oversee a team of Kitchen Porters and to ensure they are working productively and efficiently
• Have good numeracy skills and be organised and methodical at work
• Enjoy working in a fast paced environment where attention to detail is essential
• Be an excellent team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude

This role reports into the Head Chef
