About the Role

The Purchaser/Receiver works with 3 production team members to ensure all deliveries are ordered, accurate and properly stored so our kitchen can produces 1000s of meals. The receiver is an integral part to our operations, as their areas of execution include receiving, inspecting and signing for deliveries, as well as transporting and unloading pallets throughout the facility. This is a full time position that requires early morning availability.

Essential Functions:
Assist with receiving all deliveries that arrive at the facility
Check accuracy of deliveries against POs and Invoices
Effectively communicate any discrepancies with the Sourcing Associate
Help maintain overall cleanliness and organization of the loading dock and receiving areas.
Maintain food safe organization of food, packaging and supplies
Maintain proper rotation of inventory, utilize FIFO
Physically move inventory to proper areas throughout the facility
Input and log receipts
Assist with inventory counts
Work with Sourcing Associate and Kitchen Manager on other projects as needed

Key Skills:
1+ years receiving/inventory experience. Experience handling food and perishable goods a plus.
Must be able to carry 50 lbs, stand on feet for extended periods of time and operate a pallet jack
Spanish speaking a plus
Must be extremely well organized, detail-oriented, and have the ability to multi-task
Must be reliable, function well within a team and work calmly and efficiently in a fast moving environment.
Must have strong problem solving skills, be comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization
Must share our passion for improving nutrition in schools
NYC Food Handlers Certification a plus
