PR, Communications & Brand Partnerships Manager:

The Role: 
As Manager of Public Relations, Communications and Brand Partnerships, you will lead the communications strategy for CAVA, supporting both the CAVA and Zoe’s Kitchen brands as well as the overarching business narrative. Additionally, you will support assessment and development of strategic partnerships. As part of the Brand Strategy team, you will be a critical, proactive, strategic leader in furthering awareness and interest of our company’s story, positioning and unique points of differentiation to relevant audiences. 

 

What You’ll Do:  

  • Define annual PR objectives and strategy 
  • Own and implement external communication strategic programs, gathering insights, understanding business priorities, generating key narratives and creating an always on approach to communication and coverage 
  • Lead proactive communication and identify, own and nurture critical press relationships across targeted business, trade, local and consumer publications 
  • Monitor and manage crisis communications to ensure CAVA is represented in the media according to our values 
  • Manage executive team’s interviews and speaking engagements, identify opportunities, developing talking points and setting up schedules 
  • Manage PR agency for expanded support across PR & partnerships efforts 
  • Stay informed in overarching business, culinary and marketing initiatives and advise on key opportunities for the organization that will create compelling storytelling 
  • Work across the marketing team and cross-functionally to ensure all internal and external messaging and signage are brand appropriate and mitigate any risk of negative coverage 
  • Develop KPIs, establish and track results driving accountable growth in exposure 
  • Drive content for relevant owned channels related to press initiatives including newsroom & LinkedIn 
  • Assess, identify and leverage best media & social listening platforms for tracking and measurement 
  • Identify and execute press events creating experiential moments for the brand 
  • Partner with VP of Brand Strategy to identify and vet new strategic partnership opportunities 

 

The Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of PR experience in a relevant field, agency experience a plus  
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, media or journalism 
  • Strong verbal and written communication and editorial skills 
  • High industry interest for restaurant, food and/or the fast-casual industry 
  • Connected network of press contacts 
  • Fast-paced and can manage multiple external and internal priorities 
  • Ability to exercise organized critical thinking and rapid response to changing environments and/or situations 
  • Creative and insightful thinker to identify unique angles and compelling  
  • Strong relationship building and collaborations skills working with both internal and external stakeholders 
  • This role is flexible to be NY or DC based working remotely or in office with some travel. 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to maintain a stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
  • For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
  • Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
