The Role:

CAVA is seeking a highly creative and intellectually curious Sr. Cloud Engineer who will provide thought leadership, practical guidance, and ongoing support for our Cloud environment. As an Engineer in the Enterprise Technology organization, you will play a major role in shaping the future of how we disrupt the restaurant marketplace and how we connect and engage with our customers using AWS cloud technologies. We are transforming our customer-facing applications and data platforms using AWS cloud capabilities. The Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • AWS Cloud Architect Certification is preferred
  • 4+ years of progressive working experience with deploying, operating, and maintaining solutions in AWS public cloud environment
  • Strong working knowledge of AWS technologies, including, but not limited to:
  • EC2 / S3
  • NLB
  • Cloudformation
  • Cloudwatch
  • Security Groups
  • TGW
  • VPC Peering
  • IAM
  • Lambda
  • API Gateway
  • RDS
  • Redshift
  • RDBMS
  • Kinesis Data Streams
  • WAF
  • Knowledgeable in the tools and techniques necessary to design automated deployments using a DevOps approach
  • Working knowledge of various backup strategies for cloud environment
  • Experience with networking protocols and standards such as TCP/IP, network routing and firewalls.
  • Knowledge and prior experience with the following is a plus: Meraki – templates, security, configuration and support, PDQ, PRTG, WSUS, IDM
  • Knowledge of DevOps, Cloud provisioning, Managed Services, and the Security Accreditation process
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills in support of a diverse work environment.
  • A high level of creativity and ability to recognize and pursue opportunities to improve processes and services
  • Result-orientated with emphasis on continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be willing to perform some tasks and participate in troubleshooting efforts during off hours
  • Demonstrated skill improvement mindset, eagerness to continuously learn and apply learnings to address business needs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to maintain a stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
  • For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
  • Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
