Supply Chain Analyst

The Role:
The Analyst uses analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict and enhance supply chain and distribution processes. Responsible for assembling data, analyzing performance, identifying problems and developing recommendations which support operations and logistics. The job is to analyze the movement of goods from the supply pipeline through finished goods distribution, monitoring current practices, identifying and analyzing gaps and developing process improvements that will result in increased cash flows and customer satisfaction and decreased operating costs.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support all aspects of supplier performance including service levels, fulfillment, and quality standards
  • Find the most cost-effective way to distribute to market by researching channels, target profitability and stores, and analyzing route to market to find the most effective way of distribution.
  • Analyze processes such as selection, qualification or performance evaluation for new and existing Suppliers
  • Aid in negotiations with suppliers to achieve competitive cost program
  • Collaborate with other functions within the organization to integrate procurement activities with business systems or processes such as customer sales, order management, and finance
  • Analyze data and report updates to the business based on quantifiable measurements
  • Provide oversight for supplier risks and opportunities such as commodity trends, production capacity, risk mitigation, and price forecast.
  • Align with our internal Finance team on budgets based on current and future price forecast
  • Proactively support the Suppliers in both demand and supply planning by recommending adjustments to forecasts and inventory levels
  • Manage Vendors pricing documents and verify for accuracy
  • Work with senior management on a strategic planning; improving processes

 

The Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of demonstrated success in Supply Chain or Procurement experience specifically in the areas forecasting, inventory management and/or procurement.
  • Hands-on and successful experience using a Planning software tool is preferred.
  • Knowledge/Skills:
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; familiar with RFP and benchmarking activities
  • Broad range of computer skills including database, spreadsheets, statistics, applications and logistics software packages
  • Excel skills must be exceptional and advanced
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills with the ability to lead cross-functional efforts

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Must be able to identify, assess and observe detail
  • Must be able to push and pull up to 35 pounds
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to sit, squat and kneel occasionally
  • Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
  • May be required to occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions
