Founded by childhood best friends, Daniel Holzman and Michael Chernow, The Meatball Shop opened its first location on The Lower East Side in 2010. Over the last eleven years, we have expanded in the NYC market to four locations, including pop-ups in Washington D.C. and Connecticut, as well as a delivery only concept in Boise, Idaho!

Our “ballers” as we call our team, are the most important part of The Meatball Shop family, and we are passionate about serving our guests simple, sustainable, and delicious food. We believe in creating a culture that promotes creativity and individuality within our communities. Our shops each have a unique energy & vibe about them, while staying true to our values and beliefs.

Responsibilities: 

• Warmly and graciously greets all guests upon arrival

• When possible, opens the front doors for guests entering or leaving the restaurant

• When immediate seating is limited, records guest names, brief description and number of people in party

• Personally locates and advises VIP reservations as well as wait-listed parties when tables become available

• Seats guests based on guest preferences and balancing of guest flow in service stations. 

• Upon seating, makes sure guests are comfortable

• Inspects table for proper presentation and completeness

• Thanks guests as they leave and invite them to return

Details:

Salary: Hourly rate, depending on experience, plus gratuity

Experience: 1 year minimum NYC restaurant experience

Looking For:

• Positive energy, great attitude and friendly demeanor

• Enjoy working in a fast paced environment

• Guest satisfaction is your number one priority

• Works well as a team player

• Knowledge of beer, wine and spirits

• POS systems

• OpenTable or other reservation system experience
