Founded by childhood best friends, Daniel Holzman and Michael Chernow, The Meatball Shop opened its first location on The Lower Side in 2010 and quickly expanded throughout NYC. The Meatball Shop is an employee first culture that promotes creativity and individuality within our communities. The Meatball Shop serves simple, sustainable and delicious food.

The Chef is the culinary leader responsible for overseeing all areas of shop level culinary operations, maintaining quality, and spirit in accordance with The Meatball Shop Standards.

BOH Staffing Hiring / Training / Scheduling
- Selecting, Hiring and Onboarding (GM approval)
- Training, development and certification
- Scheduling
- Performance Management
- Lead departmental meetings

Food Production / Service
- Oversee prep, production and service
- Oversee recipe adherence
- Maintain and manage daily line checks
- Minimize waste

Ordering / Inventory
- Maintain accurate order / inventory guides
- Maintain accurate prep / par sheets
- Proper receiving procedures
- Inventory management

Organization / Cleanliness / Safety / DOH
- Maintain uniform adherence
- Maintain accurate opening / closing checklists
- Maintain kitchen equipment
- Maintain kitchen sanitation / cleanliness
- Food Safety and DOH adherence (entire restaurant)
