Description
Located in the heart of midtown Manhattan, The Wayfarer is an American Grille serving fresh takes on classic dishes in an airy and sophisticated setting. A bi-level restaurant, featuring a second floor lounge and three private dining rooms, The Wayfarer often has many private events, along with a regular breakfast, lunch and dinner service.

We are seeking a Food Runner. We take hospitality seriously, and expect all of our employees to do the same. All Food Runners will be responsible for the following:

• Ensuring all guests' satisfaction with their dining experience, to meet and/or exceed their needs.
• Taking feedback from the management team as needed, and assist with setting the pace of service and general guest satisfaction.
• Reacting quickly to any special requests and observed service bottlenecks, getting management involved as needed.

Position Requirements
• Have general knowledge of the menu. And be able to articulate menu descriptions.
• Be able to read dupes.
• Know all table numbers and position numbers.
• Adhere to your work schedule.
• Adhere to the restaurant grooming, uniform, and hygiene standards.
• Act professional and accommodating and always maintain your composure.

During Service
• Perform assigned side work, including to-go containers and bags.
• Set-up, breakdown and maintenance of the pick-up station.
• Polish all plates and service trays.
• Prepare butter for bread service.
• Prepare all under liners, stock kitchen printers with ribbons and paper rolls.
• Help expedite the pick-up station with the guidance of the chef.
• Stock and maintain all plates, under liners, to-go containers, and garnishes.
• Execute food delivery in an efficient, courteous, and accurate manner.
• Assist Servers with all food delivery.
• Assist Server Assistants with making and serving all hot beverages to guests in a timely manner.
• Assist with polishing all glassware and flatware.
• Running stock from the back-of-house to the dining room as needed.
• Assist dishwasher in scraping plates, racking glasses and soaking flatware.
• Minimize breakage with proper handling of china and glassware.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and neatness of your station.

Communication
• Maintain communication between Chef and Dining Room.
• Communicate all countdowns and 86’ed menu items with staff.
• Identify and report any problems to management immediately.
• Be able to answer general questions about the property, restaurant and other E2 restaurants.



The ideal candidate will have:
• 1-2 years Experience; Fine-Dining experience is a huge plus! (Not required for the right candidate.)
• Superior Hospitality Skills
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Great Attention to Detail
