Description
OVERVIEW
Théâtre XIV, home of Company XIV, is hiring an Assistant Maitre D' for a new 175-seat venue in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Company XIV specializes in creating an A-Z experience for our guests. All FOH staff are representatives of the venue, the Company and are an integral part of each performance. Company XIV typically performs 4-6 performances per week, Thursdays - Sundays. Assistant Maitre D's will be expected to work 1-4 shifts per week totaling 7-30 hours per week, depending on performance schedule. Assistant Maitre D' will be expected to work holidays.

Company XIV is seeking an Assistant Maitre D' who will embody and promote XIV values of luxury and service with an edge. Assistant Maitre D's are proactive members of the team who work closely with the creative team, including Austin McCormmick, Artistic Director.

Training rate: $15/hour
Starting rate: $10.50/hour plus tips
Tips: projected $60-120/shift
Start date: ASAP

ABOUT COMPANY XIV
Company XIV fuses dance, theater, circus, opera, burlesque, and decadent design to create one of a kind theatrical experiences. Founded by Juilliard graduate Austin McCormick in 2006, the company works in the mediums of live dance/theater and film. The work is contemporary, yet inspired by the theatre/dance/opera under the reign of Louis XIV. McCormick seeks to unite design, choreography, and music to create compelling 360-degree experiences for audiences in which they are fully immersed in a theatrical world. RESPONSIBILITIES
-Service quality control staff for bartenders and barback/busser
-Coordinate training for FOH employees
-Recruit and train barback employees
-Manage FOH staff shift schedule and troubleshoot bar staff scheduling issues
-Attend weekly meetings with Artistic Director and Venue Manager
-Create bar preorder report, assemble and delivery preorders
-Enter last minute ticket sales, as needed
-Print and assemble tickets for will-call
-Print guestlist/manifest
-Prep bar areas for service, including laying down bar mats, stocking product display and batching cocktails.
-Extend a warm greeting to guests as they arrive.
-Answer questions about wine, cocktails, beer and snacks and offer recommendations to guests.
-Prepare cocktails and pour wine.
-Accept credit card payments.
-Assist guest to their seat when necessary.
-Seats guest
-Assists bartenders when needed
-Replenish bar supplies, as needed
-Cocktail and bottle service as needed
-Clear glasses, bus tables and tend to messes as needed
-Close venue- busing, polishing, restocking, cleaning etc
-Check-out bar staff

QUALIFICATIONS
-Customer service experience required. You love working with people. You have a bright, conversational attitude and are not afraid to interact with guests and go out of your way to make them feel special.
-Impeccable sense of fashion and style. You carry yourself with dignity and class.
-Self-motivated work ethic, you are a problem solver and you’re good on your feet.
-Must be able to lift and carry 40-lb boxes.
-Must be available for evening shifts Thursday - Sunday, and afternoon shifts Saturday & Sunday.
-Must be available holidays Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
-Must be available for mandatory training.
-Hosting, serving, bartending and/or hospitality management experience
-Wine and cocktail knowledge preferred.
-Love of live performance essential
-Experience with OvationTix and/or LAVU a plus
-All candidates are required to have a Food Protection Card from the Department of Health prior to being hired
