Description
Tupelo Honey is seeking an experienced Corporate Beverage Manager to join the buzz with our “Hive” corporate team. The Corporate Beverage Manager will be responsible achieving budgeted parameters of sales and costs, while ensuring training and overall service standards are attained by all restaurants and staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develops and implements new beverage programs, beverage menu items, and beverage training to increase sales and meet budget objectives
• Manages and negotiates with beverage vendors on a local and national level to ensure cost objectives are attained
• Develops signature drink items in both the alcohol and non-alcoholic categories for seasonal and permanent menu roll-outs
• Ensures a variety of craft and local beer selections are available in every markets
• Ensures beverage collateral is properly accounted for in monthly inventories
• Ensures bar presentation standards are maintained in new and existing locations
• Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of beverage market and industry trends
• Responsible for frequent store visits to: verify compliance, coach & develop team, and provide visual checks and feedback of on-hand inventory.
• Develops written and online bar training materials and provides and leads on-going training and development opportunities for bar staff
• Sets and ensures regional and companywide pricing continuity and assists with beverage menu design and development
• Full project management of all beverage related menu rollouts
• Providing recommendations, hosting tastings, and compiling communication for menu roll-out
• Ensures loss prevention, cash controls, and eliminates beverage waste
• Ability to manage and coordinate bar maintenance, including tap systems
• Develops promotional material for marketing and/or brand specific content.
• Responsible for individual restaurant beverage/on-hand levels, controls the accuracy of inventory counts and pricing cost.
• Works interdepartmentally with Marketing and third-party menu creation firm.
• Responsible for keeping stores at a determined parf bar books that are clean and not damaged. Places orders for replacements after communicating with stores.
• Fosters a relationship with each individual bar manager with personal one on one communication when appropriate.
• Ensures accuracy of beverage recipe documentation across all systems including ERP, POS and all training materials
• Manages and Promotes all alcohol certifications for all store employees
• Hosts monthly beverage council calls, creates agendas, keeps minutes, and provides timelines to solve issues with VP approval
• Responsible for interdepartmental communication and project management of beverage NMRO


QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors/Associates degree in culinary/beverage program
• 5-7 years’ operational experience as a Bartender
• 3 years Bar or Restaurant Management experience with cost cent or P&L responsibility
• Strong financial acumen and ability to adhere to aggressive budgetary requirements
• Comprehensive beer, wine, and cocktail knowledge, especially as related to the craft brews and cocktails
• Proven success in driving revenue in the beverage category
• TIPS certification, preferred
• Cicerone certification, preferred
• Sommelier certified, preferred
• BarSmarts certified, preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong ability to think strategically and analytically
• Desire to participant in a start-up environment that is fast-paced, growing, and challenging
• Ability to travel 50% of the time. More frequently, as required by store openings
• Ability to secure national beverage co-op dollars, incentives, and grants

REQUIREMENTS
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to ten hours).
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must have schedule flexibility to cover all meal periods as needed.
• Must be able to move and process information quickly.
