Key Responsibilities

Hosts are responsible for ensuring guests have a positive experience by exhibiting unsurpassed hospitality.  Duties and tasks include:

  • Welcoming and greeting guests at the entrance of the restaurant according to company standards and escorting them to their assigned tables or other seating areas while their table is being prepared.
  • Provide guests with food and beverage menus.
  • Receive and record dining reservations or respond to general inquiries via telephone or online reservation system.
  • Check-in with guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take corrective action if any issues arise.
  • Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.
  • Confer with dining room staff to ensure guests are receiving prompt and courteous service.
  • Provide guests with information about the Seaport, including giving directions.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of two years’ experience working in a fast-paced rooftop bar/lounge/arena
  • Desire and dedication to offer impeccable dining service
  • Organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic and outgoing demeanor
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing guest services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Knowledge of online reservation systems Resy, or other online reservation systems
  • Stamina to stand for long periods of time, including walking up and down stairs
  • Physical ability to lift trays of food, glasses and other objects that might be a part of daily duties.
