Description
SERVICE AND TRAINING DIRECTOR

The Service and Training Director leads ThinkFoodGroup’s Training Department in developing the skills of all restaurant operations employees. This includes team members from hourly to salary as well as programs to train the trainer. Ideal candidates exemplify enlightened hospitality and achieves the highest level of service excellence by coaching and inspiring employees to seek opportunities to exceed the expectations of our guests.  The Service and Training Director radiates warmth, kindness, confidence, positivity and commitment while managing the implementation of a comprehensive, results-driven curriculum. Position reports to the COO.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Lead, direct and develop a team of 2-3 direct reports in support of all current and new TFG properties.

·       Lead the design, development and implementation of e-learning programs in an effort to improve, evaluate, and mobilize talent throughout the organization 

·  Design and implement programs to ensure all restaurant staff understand each concept’s service, culture and standards 

·  Provide a higher more detail standard of service throughout the company by utilizing comprehensive training techniques for all experience levels.

·  Involve restaurant leaders in the development of their own teams through train the trainer programs targeting and promoting growth within the organization

·  Conduct regular needs analysis of current Management Level Training and Development programs 

·  Develop and execute company-wide educational initiatives 

·  Act as leadership and talent expert across the organization 

·  Stay current on trends within the hospitality industry regarding training, development, service, strategy and overall best practices.

·  Successfully navigate the complexities between training all facets of ThinkFoodGroup properties ranging from Fast Casual to 2 Michelin Star experiences.

·  Act as a communications conduit between TFG Home Office Departments as it pertains to operations ie; Human Resources laws/regulations, new procedures or protocol, operational policies, SOPs, beverage/menu changes, promotions, etc.

·  Provide metrics and reporting to determine the effectiveness of all training and development programs 

 REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Requires developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
Work both independently or in a team environment with the employee acting as a team leader. 
Ability to maintain compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
Ability to supervise, train and motivate multiple levels of employees
Extensive knowledge of food industry, restaurants and competitive markets.
Knowledge of restaurant trends, guest expectations and competitive markets.
Must possess basic computational ability and strong computer skills.
Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate the execution of training programs and effectively instruct others in a classroom setting.
Ability to partner effectively with managers and TFG teams to promote TFG training and service initiatives. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development/organizational behavior or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of current experience in a learning/training and development leadership role in a restaurant or hospitality corporation  
Prior experience selecting and implementing e-learning/LMS and Performance Management systems   
Ability to develop and implement programs to build internal talent pipeline 
Must have a sound understanding of adult learning principles.                    
Extensive experience in leading a high-performing team
Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
