 ASSISTANT TO JOSÉ ANDRÉS 

 
Chef and humanitarian José Andrés seeks a bright, driven, resourceful English/Spanish bilingual Assistant to support a wide, ever-evolving range of daily functions and long-term initiatives in a fast-paced workplace with ample room for professional and personal growth.  

 

This person will assist with schedules and travel, routine correspondence, and essential administrative taskssupport ongoing initiatives spanning José’s businessnonprofit, advocacy, and personal commitmentsand coordinate on events and special projects with a particular focus on logistics. They will work closely with and report directly to José’s Chief of Staff to manage the full spectrum of José’s many interests and endeavors. 
 
This person must be exceedingly well organized and confident, maintaining the highest level of professionalism, enthusiasm, and interpersonal communication. Complete fluency in both spoken and written English and Spanish is a requirement. Must be proactiveflexible, and an excellent multi-tasker with solid administrative capabilities and the ability to coordinate a busy schedule and juggle multiple prioritiesIdeal applicants will be quick learners capable of exercising unwaveringly good judgement, just as comfortable and effective working independently on tasks as with colleagues and external partners. Above all, successful candidates will demonstrate that they are prepared to make the most of a unique, challenging, and highly rewarding job opportunity. 

 
Responsibilities 
The Assistant will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of José Andrés and will be his primary administrative support system in coordination with his Chief of Staff. Specific responsibilities include: 
 
• Schedule, update and coordinate meetings and appointments 
• Create and present briefings for projects, speeches, meetings and presentations 
• Coordinate travel arrangements and generate detailed itineraries 

 Monitor, evaluate and respond to routine business and event inquiries 

 Manage short- and long-term projects of particular interest to José 

 Coordinate closely with social media, marketing, content, and partnerships teams to develop workflows and execute on deliverables 

 Provide logistical support for events, meetings, and other planned and spontaneous activities involving José’s participation 

 Proactively seek technological efficiencies and best practices for administrative backstopping, flow of information, and knowledge management 

 Serve an ambassadorial role with company colleagues and external partners that is consistent with José’s values  
• Other duties as assigned  
 
Requirements 
• At least two years’ experience in a fast-paced environment in a project management or administrative capacity, and/or directly supporting a public figure or public-facing executive 
• Fully fluent in oral and written English and Spanish 
• Proficient in MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint) 

• Passionate about food, dining and the hospitality industry 

• Readily adjusts to circumstances and manages change effectively 
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships and communicate with all levels of management 
• Able to work independently, multitask and prioritize work to manage time effectively and meet deadlines 

 Ability to anticipate what needs to be done to reach goals and follow up to achieve them 
• Highly efficient, naturally intuitive, effortlessly conscientious and personable  
• Reliable, flexible, and willing to be available beyond office hours 
• Available and willing to travel as needed, both domestically and internationally 
• Discreet and able to manage confidential information 

 Belief that no job is too small
