being a kitchen porter in wagamama means being the one who makes sure back of house areas are always at wagamama standards of cleanliness and health and safety. you will make sure the rest of the kitchen team has all the support and help they need to make sure our kitchens run smoothly. it’s a busy and varied role so expect lots of different tasks to juggle. whatever you’re doing you will have ‘happy to help’ approach. it’s a great way to start your chef career in a wagamama and progress to becoming a kitchen assistant

customer experience
- always ensures that crockery/cutlery is spotlessly clean and ready for chefs to use to avoid customer complaints
- greets and says goodbye to customers as they enter and leave restaurant

people and teams
- happy to help and assist wherever required
- open to all kinds of different responsibilities to help the restaurant run smoothly
- communicates problems to the head or sous chef to prevent any issues during service
- maintains the highest standard of personal hygiene

delivery of results
- build your knowledge of wagamama health + safety policies and procedures
- work with the kitchen team to achieve high scores on all qscd audits
- work with the team to ensure the kitchen is maintained and cleaned to the highest standards
- report any maintenance/equipment problems to head chef
- build knowledge of correct storage and handling of chemicals used in the kitchen
- depending on which tasks have been assigned:
o keeps kitchen spotlessly clean
o makes sure all deliveries are stored and labelled properly
o ensures all cleaning chemicals are safely stored
o ensures all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned
