Strategic Intent

The Esthetician will deliver exceptional service in the execution of treatments. S/he will perform the spas treatments in line with the flow charts, and ensure that all guests are recommended home care solutions.

Organizational Structure

The Esthetician will report to the Director of Spa & Membership. S/he will be technically supervised by the Lead Esthetician as required.

General Duties and Responsibilities

•Performs massage and spa treatment services according to protocol as outlined above


•Effectively communicate the spa’s health and wellness philosophy to guests.


•Exhibit proper use of product and abide by all product control guidelines.


•Read and adhere to schedule postings in regards to shifts, room assignments and the computer scheduling system.


•Provide clear and appropriate directions to guests for overall safety.


•Meets or exceeds the retail goals of the massage therapist’s monthly targets or individual sales goals.


•Completion of daily checklists as assigned by department.


•Attend and participate in regularly scheduled training sessions and meetings.


•Adheres to all standard operating procedures, protocols and techniques specified by Argentta and all treatments given, reflect service protocols.


•Display appropriate teamwork, flexibility and interpersonal skills.


•Responsible for providing a safe, clean, personal, entertaining and well thought out session that exceeds guest’s expectations.


•Ensure proper use tools and equipment and informs General Manager/Supervisor of any potential safety issues.


•Ensure gratuities are not solicited.


•Massage Therapist is empowered to determine when to terminate a massage in the event it becomes unprofessional and/or uncomfortable for either party.


•Promote the spa and all services, products and programs.


•Ensure that individual retails sales goals are met.


•Responsible for providing a safe, clean, personal and attentive treatment that exceeds guest’s expectations.


•Educates guests on all products being used in treatment and make recommendations as appropriate regarding product to support an at home skin care regime.



Requirements:


Experience and Requirements

•Must posse a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a spa environment; those with hotel/resort five star experience will be favored.


•Exercises dependability and willingness to work with schedule flexibility.


•Participates in continuing education and maintains CEUs and license as mandated by the District of Columbia.


•Ability to effectively deal with internal and external guests.


•Ability to stand for long periods of time.


•Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect sign of emergency situations.


•Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate all business goals and directives. This position will (at times) require early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays.


•Excellent communication and presentation skills required; must be fluent in English (those with multi-lingual abilities will be preferred).
