Description
The Watergate Hotel seeks a stylish and talented Host/ess for our chic rooftop lounge Top of the Gate

Host/ess:
1. Greet incoming & departing guests with warm, genuine smile
2. Escort guests to assigned dining area
3. Answer incoming calls in timely manner & provide appropriate service
4. Manage the flow of guests into the lounge & bar areas
5. Be attentive to guests special needs & requests
6. Assist service staff when needed
7. Properly inform guests of lounge/table availability
8. Communicate table minimums with guests
9. Communicate with servers (guest minimums, preferences, celebrations)
10. Keep host area clean & organized (FOH & BOH)
11. Update “Information Station” daily
12. Be knowledgeable of all outlets in the hotel

Cashier:
1. Operating a cash register, micros terminal, & CMV reader
2. Maintain a clean & orderly work space
3. Handle cash & credit card transactions from servers
4. Receive & enter guest orders from servers
5. Start a running tab for each table (server to provide credit card)
6. Pre-authorize guest credit card
7. Keep track of server reports


Successful candidates will possess the following skills and expertise:
•1+ year of host(ess) experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant or hotel setting. Those with luxury fine dining luxury hotel host(ess) experience will be preferred.
•Prior experience with multi-line phones, reservations software such as Open Table, and MICROS experience all required.
•Must be computer proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, etc.
•Must possess an uplifting and polished presence with a genuine desire to enhance the guest experience with warm and gracious service.
•Must be able to work a flexible schedule that will include early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays.
•Must be a superior communicator with fluency in English required; those with bi-lingual abilities will be preferred.
•A High School Diploma is required; college degree preferred.
•Must be physically able to meet the demands of the position such as: walk/stand for extended periods of time while on shift.
