Job purpose

The food expeditor is responsible for ensuring meal service runs smoothy. You will be assisting wherever necessary to keep the flow of the meal service moving. Job duties include setting up expo line, organizing ticket orders, adding garnish to plates before they leave the kitchen and running food from the kitchen to guest tables when needed.  You must be willing to be part of our tight-knit team and perform any job duties necessary during meal services.

Essential Functions

1.     Follow all food safety regulations

2.     Prepare the expo area for the shift

3.     Restock the expo area as needed

4.     Maintain the highest level of food quality

5.     Keep work area clean, sanitized, safe and organized

6.     Always come to work in a clean uniform

7.     Follow all restaurant regulations

8.     Account for every food item used

9.     Accurately follow prep list

10.  Immediately notify management of any food issues; i.e., shortages, spoilage, loss, incorrect product received

Qualifications and Competencies

1.      Food Handler certification

2.      Customer/Client Focus Expertise in food product, presentation, quality and preparation along with menu concept and design.

3.      Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

4.      Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Working conditions

1.      While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat from the stoves and burners.

2.     The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

3.     Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for the duration of a scheduled shift.

4.     Must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

5.     Must have the ability to lift, stoop, and bend.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee frequently is required to stand; bend; walk; use hands or finger, handle or feel; talk; hear; see; and reach with hands and arms and requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 50 pounds.
