Key Objectives and Responsibilities:

Delivering customer service to all visitors

Being a Brand Ambassador for Market Halls by representing the company's core beliefs and values.

Responsible for making sure that all areas of the venue are correctly set and equipped for any and all service periods. This includes correct levels of crockery and utensils on tables and in kitchens, correct menus and advertising material present for guests to view and that all front of house areas are cleared and restocked for use in a timely manner.

Ensure water stations and self-serve areas are correctly stocked and maintained throughout the day.

Assist BoH staff in loading the dishwasher and maintaining a clean and manageable BoH area.

Responsible for ensuring that front and back of house areas are correctly cleaned at the end of service and that all appropriate equipment, utensils and menus are available for the team to action venue set up.

Report any safety issues, such as broken tables, broken chairs, blocked doors and spillages to the management team and assisting in correcting the issue.

Report any security issues that you may see to the onsite Security team or the Manager on Duty, such as blocked fire exits, abandoned bags, suspicious behaviour and illegal activity such as the selling and consumption of drugs and other illegal products.

Maintain the venue to a high standard of cleanliness, in line with the the EHO Health and Hygiene Standards.

You will work with management to ensure that all areas of the unit are free from pest activity by following the company's pest control practices and the advice given to us from our designated pest control partners. You will ensure that the venues facilities are kept in a clean, safe and useable state, including toilets, front of house, storage areas and back of house areas.

General:

Work closely with Market Hall’s Floor team to ensure customers/guests are well looked after and have the best possible experience during their visit.

Comply with all policies set out by Market Halls to include:

a. H&S

b. Food Hygiene

c. Fire regulations

d. Licensing Law

e. Sales of Goods/Trading Standards

Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Head of Operations or any member of the Senior Leadership Team.

 

Person Specification

Experience and qualifications

Essential

Experience of:

Working in a customer service environment, preferably within a restaurant or bar.

Desirable

Experience of working as floor team or waiter in a large busy restaurant

Working in a food preparation/service environment with excellent cleaning and hygiene standards.

Skills and approach

Knowledgeable and passionate about food & drink

A clear and persuasive communicator

Excellent emotional intelligence

An ability to upsell

A desire to please customers

Organised, professional and efficient, able to prioritise.

Complaint handling/service recovery

A flexible approach to working hours as the role requires some evening work;
