What we're looking for: 

  • Organised and efficient individual, with the ability to multitask and effectively prioritise workload.
  • IT literate with experience using online systems Microsoft Office.
  • Able to support the M&E Sales Manager and Executives with incoming business leads, pricing point and help convert business.
  • Ability to use diary management and other events management systems effectively.
  • Ability to forecast, budget and analyse the Groups, Meetings & Events business in the hotel and support the DOS in planning activity to achieve budget.
  • Previous Hotel meeting and events sales experience.

You dive into the core of our business, passionately managing the team and supporting the Director of Sales in creating demand and ensuring successful conversions. Coaching and training are your tools of empowerment, as you nurture a team that thrives on handling inquiries and turning them into transformative events. Example key responsibilities:

  • Management of the M&E Sales Manager and office, providing coaching, mentorship, and direction to the team. Responsible for the team development and supporting the team to ensure budgets are achieved.
  • Weekly reporting and forecasting of the M&E, Groups, Weddings and Christmas figures, providing commentary on movement and against pace and budget.
  • Responsibility for ensuring all Groups (+9 bedrooms),  Meetings and Events are correctly contracted and payment and cancellation terms fully adhered to. Implementing and following a robust enquiry handling and follow up process.
  • Preparation and involvement of annual budgets and attending hotel team and internal meetings on behalf of the Sales Office, including monthly Commercial Meetings.
  • Working alongside the Director of Sales to ensure all revenue streams are being maximised, monitoring proposals, rates quoted and conversion %.
  • Participation in relevant Sales activity which can include supporting on client entertaining, FAM trips and both prospecting and conversion calling days.
  • Responsibility for the team responding to enquiries in a timely manner and adhering to BDRC standards, providing additional training and support as required. Regular reviewing and monitoring of event enquiry response times.
  • The ‘’owner’’ of the M&E software, including regular auditing of the system to ensure the information is robust and accurate. Review templates regularly and updates when needed. Refresher training for the team when required.
  • Senior point of contact, alongside the M&E Sales Manager, for event clients, taking a hands-on approach with high-value event business.
  • The  ‘’owner’’ and ambassador of the M&E software with regular auditing of the system to ensure the information is accurate. Updating of templates and proposals as required and training support to new team members to utilise the system.
  • Drive a culture of selling within the team, encouraging and supporting them to drive revenue and profit through pro-active selling and up-selling techniques.
  • Cultivate excellent working relations between your department and all other hotel supporting departments like Finance, Kitchen and Front of House.
