Head Sommelier

5 Hertford Street is the beautifully appointed private member's club owned and operated by entrepreneur Robin Birley; located in the heart of Mayfair. Our aim is to be a home away from home, in the utmost comfort, where members are looked after by a team who know them by name.

We are currently looking for a Head Sommelier to join our Upper Floor Restaurant.

The responsibilities of the Head Sommelier are:

• To create a seamless journey & outstanding wine experience for guests
• Manage the Sommelier team, ensuring they are trained to Company standard 
• Ensure that all the wine service is under control
• Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast pace environment

The Experience & Qualifications required of our Head Sommelier are: 

• Experience of working in a similar role within a luxury hotel, restaurant or private member’s club advantageous

• Qualified to a WSET L3 minimum 

The working hours:

• The working hours for this role are on a rota basis with shifts falling between Monday - Saturday.

The club is closed on Sundays, Bank Holidays and throughout Christmas each year.
