Position: Server Assistant
Reports to: General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Dining Room Manager(s)
Position Classification: Non-exempt
Pay Type: Hourly


Purpose

The Server Assistant will assist servers and attend to the guests of the restaurant by upholding the quality of food, beverage, and service. This position will assist with running food, clearing dishware, and setting up tables to ensure service runs smoothly. 

Key Focus

  • Assist servers and attend to guests during service.
  • Run guest orders to tables in an accurate and orderly manner. 
  • Clear guest dishware and setting up tables.
  • Provide attentive and quality service to all guests during their dining experience.

Personnel:

  • Ensure compliance with occupational, health, and safety standards.
  • Participate actively during pre-shift meeting.
  • Participate in restaurant service and team trainings. 
  • Ensure consistent communication with staff members, management, and the kitchen during service.
  • Demonstrate ability to aid co-workers during service while successfully maintaining responsibilities.

Guest Service

  • Provide courteous and efficient service.
  • Responds positively and promptly to customer concerns and complaints.
  • Assist servers by clearing tables, setting tables, refilling beverages and dishware, and attending to guest requests. 
  • Run guest food orders to tables and ensure food quality of the restaurant.
  • Maintain a welcoming and orderly restaurant environment.
  • Builds relationships with repeat guests.
  • Completes side work according to the schedule.
  • Ensures consistent execution of company policies and procedures including recently created and evolving COVID guidelines.

Service Standards

  • Act as part of the team to maintain the high standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout all areas of the restaurant both before, during and after service.
  • Reliably complete all assigned side work.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures including recently created and evolving COVID guidelines.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Department of Health (DOH) standards.

Physical Demands 

  • The physical demands for this position are frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.
