Absolute Taste are looking for a Sous Chef to join our team at the stunning attraction site Burghley House in Stamford.
We are offering you an opportunity to join our team at the beautiful Burghley House in Stamford. As a Sous Chef, your hours will be flexible and you will work in a number of areas including The Orangery Restaurant, The Garden Café, The Shed as well as our exciting Events. Throughout working with us at Burghley House you would be helping to deliver both hot and cold food options throughout all areas of the business. Kitchen working hours are usually between 8 AM – 6 PM with exception to events.
As a Sous Chef some of your duties will include:
· Assist the team in managing kitchen production ensuring quality and consistency every time in line with guidelines.
· To ensure standards, costs and menu planning are carried out in a timely fashion, as agreed with the Head Chef.
· To carry out the smooth and efficient running of the section as appropriate.
· To assist the Head Chef with placing supplier orders and developing new food concepts.
· Take a hands-on approach in assisting, monitoring and overseeing all production, stock and operational kitchen concerns.
· To help head chef develop the junior team members in the kitchen.
· To assess kitchen team performance and recognise training needs and potential as appropriate.
· To assist in the development of the kitchen team by empowering it, supporting it, encouraging it and maintaining an ‘open door’ policy.
· Ensure that work is conducted in a clean and tidy way, monitoring on a continual basis as well as ensuring legislative and government guidelines are adhered to including the Food Safety Act, Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH and Fire Regulations.
· To oversee the cleaning and due diligence for the kitchen to ensure full compliance with company policy and UK law.
· Have experience working in a similar fast-paced environment.
· Be passionate about delivering top quality food.
· Manage the kitchen in the absence of the head if away to cover holidays.
· To motivate and lead by example, ensuring you and your team have fun at work and are proud of your efforts.
· To treat your team at location as you would expect to be treated.
ROLE:
48 hours per week/5 days out of 7. Flexibility required to work weekends and Bank Holidays.
