ROLE DETAILS

  • Up to £42.000 pa
  •  Bicester, Oxfordshire - but with the requirement to travel and work at venues and events across the UK.
  •  Absolute Taste LTD
  •  Permanent, 40 Hrs per week across 5 out of 7 days
  •  33 Holidays a year (including bank holidays)

ROLE OVERVIEW

 

As a Senior Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in driving culinary excellence, working closely with our esteemed Head Chefs to lead and inspire a talented kitchen brigade. You will be instrumental in delivering exceptional dining experiences across a diverse range of events, from intimate private gatherings to large-scale sporting events and festivals.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

-        Menu Development: Collaborate closely with Head Chefs to develop innovative and refined culinary concepts, translating client visions into exquisite menus.

-        Event Planning: Assist Head Chefs with operational planning aspects of each event, including ordering, rota planning, and overall kitchen set up and build.

-        Event Delivery: Oversee the kitchen operation whilst on the event, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and uncompromising quality in every aspect of food preparation and presentation.

-        Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to large kitchen teams, fostering a collaborative environment, delegating effectively, and ensuring high performance during demanding events.

-        Resource & Cost Management:  Manage team hours and product usage to maximise efficiency and minimise waste and control costs.

-        Compliance: Uphold Absolute Taste’s high standards by rigorously reviewing all dishes, conducting kitchen inspections, and implementing quality control processes to ensure compliance with regulations and client expectations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

-        Proven experience in a senior chef role, ideally within events or catering.

-        Possess experience working in high-end fine dining restaurants or events.

-        Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

-        Exceptional menu writing and culinary creativity.

-        Excellent organisational and time management abilities.

-        Proficiency in cost management, budgeting, and food ordering systems.

-        Thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.

-        Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
