Absolute Taste is a leading event catering company dedicated to the provision of high-end catering services to Formula 1, Private Jet Aviation, performance sports, high-end Domestic & International Events along with a strong presence in catering venues within retail.

 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our team! If you’re looking to take the next step in your culinary career and thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, this role is for you. You’ll play a key part in delivering exceptional dishes while working in a unique and inspiring setting.

Product:

  • Support the Head Chef with all off-site administration, including writing and costing of all menus in accordance with food budgets.
  • Uphold the high standards of the operation set by the Head Chef by paying attention to detail, working consistently and in a timely manner. 
  • Form part of the strategic team, ensuring the overarching goals of the project are achieved.
  • Deputise for the Head Chef in their absence.
  • Ability to scale up and adapt working styles between pre and post event, and on-site event requirements.
Onsite Delivery:

  • Attendance at multiple international events, travel required.
  • Act as key member of the event delivery team including setting up for each event and packing down following each event to the correct standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure all legislative and Government guidelines are adhered to including The Food Safety Act, Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH and Fire Regulations.
  • Rotate taking responsibility for different areas of the operation with the rest of the culinary team.
  • Deliver all culinary outputs consistently to the highest standard whilst adhering to strict timelines.
  • Report to management when maintenance of kitchen equipment and repairs are required.
  • Accurately monitor all stock levels and waste management reporting.
  • Ensure all allergen documents are always completed and up to date.

Financial:

  • Assist with sourcing and purchasing of ingredients and food.
  • Accurately track all spend including, but not limited to, food, labour and kitchen equipment.
  • Follow processes around raising Purchase Orders, receipt collection and submitting supplier invoices.
  • Maintain sound knowledge of global seasonal ingredients and food costs.
Strategy:

Work with the Head Chef to shape overall F&B strategy, including:
  • Adapting to local food trends in various locations
  • Input on the look and feel for every event
  • Implement current hospitality trends.
Act as an ambassador for Absolute Taste with clients and guests.
Assist with the development of innovative and creative menus.

General:

  • To be conversant with all Company Codes of Conduct and Human Resources Policies.
  • To always be ready to work at the correct time, wearing correct uniform.
  • To attend company training sessions as and when required.
  • Whilst Absolute Taste will endeavour to train and develop individuals, it is important that self-development is also carried out in the way of trade journals, trade fairs and by any other means necessary.
  • To complete any other reasonable duties as requested by management from time to time.
  • Attend all post-event debriefs.
