Who Are Absolute Taste and What Do We Do?

We are an innovative culinary and customer service provider, dedicated to delivering inspirational food and experiences that redefine customer satisfaction. With a commitment to excellence and a passion for pushing boundaries, we continue to grow from strength to strength.

As a small, dynamic team of event professionals, we specialize in creating exciting, well-managed, and sustainable events, while fostering strong working relationships. We're looking for individuals who share our fun, resilient, and hardworking values to join our supportive, high-performing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly regarded organisation dedicated to success and a positive, empowering culture.

About The Role

As a Front of House Team Member, you’ll play a key role in delivering smooth, high‑quality service across every event. This is a hands‑on, guest‑focused position where you’ll help create a welcoming, polished, and memorable experience from start to finish.

You’ll support the execution of service to company standards, maintain clean and organised dining spaces, and work closely with both the kitchen and bar teams to ensure everything runs seamlessly. From setting up event spaces to assisting with room flips and end‑of‑night breakdowns, you’ll be involved in every stage of the event journey.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys working as part of a collaborative team, and takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences. Whether you’re serving, resetting, or supporting behind the scenes, your contribution will help ensure every event is delivered with professionalism, efficiency, and care.

Location: Tythe Barn, Launton, Oxfordshire

BEHIND THE BRAND

We’re a family-run, entrepreneurial business with an exciting pace of life and a bright and friendly team. We are passionate about creating stunning weddings and events with a personal touch, while continuously innovating and refining our experience behind the scenes.

We value creativity, collaboration, integrity and excellence, and we expect every team member to champion the Tythe Barn standard in everything they do.

Your Key Responsibilities as a Front of House Team Member will be :

  • Event Execution: Execute service to company standards, including plated service, buffet management, or tray-passing hors d'oeuvres.
  • Table Maintenance: Clear tables throughout the event (pre-bussing), refill drinks, and ensure a clean, orderly dining environment.
  • Setup/Teardown: Set up banquet tables, chairs, linens, and silverware; assist with flipping the room between ceremony and reception; and pack up equipment at the end of the night.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure a seamless flow of service.
  • Guest Experience: Handle guest complaints with professionalism and grace, escalating to supervisors when necessary

What We Are Looking For:

  • A warm, professional approach, ensuring guests feel welcomed, supported, and well looked after.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to interact with guests, colleagues, and supervisors throughout the event.
  • A proactive, can‑do mindset, able to stay calm, organised, and focused even during busy service periods.
  • Excellent attention to detail, from table presentation to maintaining a clean, polished dining environment.
  • A team‑first attitude, working closely with kitchen, bar, and FOH colleagues to deliver seamless service.
  • Reliability and professionalism, consistently showing up ready to contribute and deliver high standards.
  • A willingness to learn, whether mastering service techniques, improving efficiency, or supporting behind the scenes.

Desirable

  • Experience in hospitality, events, or customer‑facing roles
  • Knowledge of plated service, buffet management, or tray‑passing
  • Familiarity with event setups, room flips, or banquet operations
