Job Purpose:
Waiting staff are responsible for taking and serving food and beverage orders according to the company standards courteously and efficiently and assisting in the maintenance of the restaurant area and equipment.
Duties and responsibilities
- Prepare MEP necessary for operation
- Carry out opening and closing procedures according to the checklist provided
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and quality controls
- Keep the service stations clean and organized
- Set and reset tables as required
- Clear and clean tables and the restaurant area
- Greet customers and provide a professional service following company steps of service
- Have extensive knowledge on products served
- Explain the food and beverage menu to guests, offer suggestions and upsell
- Provide a positive and friendly guest experience by interacting with guests
- Ensure the service area is clean and presentable
- Check identification to verify legal age requirements for customers if appropriate
- Follow all company processes and procedures
- Represent the company to the highest standard possible and always strive for perfection
Work Experience
Minimum 1 years’ experience as a waiter/waitress in high volume quality restaurant
Skills Required
Excellent spoken English, high level written English ability
Hands on, hard working in a physical environment
Ability to have positive interactions with customers
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Computer literate, must have experience using POS system
Excellent customer service skills
Extensive food and beverage knowledge
Good communicator and team player
Qualifications
Diploma, undergraduate or graduate certificate minimum standard
Hospitality and catering diploma preferred
